Dear Fellow Republicans,

I hope this day finds you safe and well.  Every year there's a Presidential election a Quadrennial Convention is conducted in order to elect delegates to the Republican National Convention.  In a similar fashion to the Pre-Primary Convention, we start by electing delegates at the County Party level.  Those elected county delegates will vote at the State Convention to pick state delegates to represents New Mexico at the Republican National Convention, and as presidential electors.

On April 20, 2020, the State Central Committee approved an amendment to the Uniform State Rules to allow meetings and conventions to be conducted by electronic means during a disaster or emergency when in-person gatherings are not possible.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting restrictions on group meetings, the RPBC Quadrennial Convention will be held electronically.

The information packet and fees for the State Quadrennial Convention were emailed out previously, both by RPNM and by RPBC.  NOTE: There are no proxies allowed for the State Quadrennial Convention.  If you want to vote you must attend in person (in June).

Shelter In Place Order Limits Our Activity

The Governor has extended her existing public health order, which limits gatherings to five people and forces all non-essential businesses to stay closed through May 15th. That's some amazing timing considering that regular early voting begins Saturday May 16th. Many of us are ready to get back to business and carry on with our regular campaign activities. Hopefully we'll see some movement towards reopening New Mexico even further. In the meantime we are still looking for an adequate new space from which to conduct operations since our Eubank location became unusable in February.

Primary Election Voting Schedule and Details Update

Absentee In-Person & Early Voting (only at the County Clerk's Annex) begins today, May 5th at

1500 Lomas Blvd NW Suite A. It will run on weekdays only from 8am-5pm between the 5th and 15th. Its hours of operation will change on the 16th to match those of other early voting locations.

Early Voting begins Saturday, May 16th and runs on weekdays and Saturdays through May 30th from 8am-8pm.

Primary Election Day is Tuesday June 2nd from 7am-7pm.

The Bernalillo County Clerk has now posted a new, more limited selection of early voting locations. You can look them here:

Absentee Voting is a viable option for anyone concerned with voting in person. The Secretary of State and the Bernalillo County Clerk will be mailing absentee ballot applications to all voters registered with a major party (Rep/Dem/Lib) some time in the next week or so. If you prefer not to wait, you can print an absentee ballot application here:…/files/Clerk/NMAV-1_BER_eform.pdf

If you send in your application requesting an Absentee Ballot, you may not cast your vote any other way. However, if you misplace your ballot, you may still vote in person by provisional ballot (the County Clerk will certify your ballot at a later date to ensure you haven't voted more than one). You may also hand deliver your own absentee ballot to the County Clerk's Office downtown, or it can be mailed in the return envelope provided with it. Alternatively you may drop off your absentee ballot at any early or Election Day voting location during their hours of operation.

If you want to know which district you are in for any state, local, or federal race you can find out by clicking here:…

Poll Workers

The Bernalillo County Clerk's office may still be in need of Poll Workers. Depending on what position you would be interested in, the wage is $9.84-$11.40 per hour, with a flat pay rate on election day. The Clerk's office has informed me that they will take all precautions for poll workers' safety.

If you're interested in being a Poll Worker, please call the Bernalillo County Clerk's office:

Poll Challengers

Our County Chair is allowed to appoint Poll Challengers. A Poll Challenger is a volunteer position and their presence is permitted at polling locations throughout early voting and on Election Day. If you are interested in helping as a Challenger, please contact our Chair, Julie Wright via email:

Same Day Voter Registration

We know you're all registered to vote, but in the odd case that you still need to register to vote, Same Day Voter Registration is available for the Primary Election. The only site that will have Same Day Registration will be the Clerk's Annex located at 1500 Lomas Blvd NW, Suite A.

We Have Excellent Candidates!

Please vote for our Republican candidates running in the Primary. If you don't know who to vote for, please reach out to them via the links to their campaign sites. All campaign links can be found on our County Party Website, which you can reach if you click here:
